A product of Skedar technology, the Shield is a portable protection device developed by the dataDyne Corporation (with technology secretly provided by the Skedar) for production and use on Earth. It generates a force field to defend the user from gunfire or similar attacks. However, the power requirements usually exhaust the charge within a few shots depending on the power and quantity of projectiles the user is hit with. The shield is not even strong enough to resist explosions and will fail instantly from a direct hit.

dataDyne scientists however, have been experimenting with creating a stronger shield generator.
